The Killarney racetrack in Cape Town played host to round eight of the Wesbank Super Series on Saturday 22 September as local drivers entertained the crowds that had packed the track-side grandstands.

And the Etana Insurance boma was the place to be, with an incREDibly vocal crowd of about 40 – Etanans, their families and friends, and brokers from Cape Town and Boland – who were in full voice cheering on the Etana-affiliated Campos brothers.

“I was so excited to be going to the races that I did not care what the weather did – hot or cold, I was still going,” said Etanan Bradley Matthews. “The racing was superb, some of the best driving I have ever seen. Everyone at the boma was looked after.”

Heinrich Westenraad, who heads the Etana Boland branch, said: “It was absolutely fantastic to come and watch, and our brokers have already asked if this can become an annual event in the future.

“The whole day was just made sweeter when we cheered home Jason [Campos] to his double victory after a very entertaining race.”

The action saw “big” moments for many drivers, but fortunately the Etana-sponsored Jason and his brother, Keegan, managed to stay out of trouble and walk away with some impressive results. Jason, driving a Formula 1600, managed to win both his races, while Keegan managed to finish third overall.
