Etana Insurance is Short-Term Corporate Insurer of the Year

Last night, June 7, Etana Insurance won the coveted Corporate Insurer of the Year award in the Short-Term Insurance category at the 2012 FIA (Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa) Awards at the Sandton Convention Centre.
More than 1 000 industry stakeholders were at the awards, a function considered by many as the highlight on the financial services event calendar.
The 2012 FIA Awards were the culmination of a lengthy selection process to determine which of South Africa’s product providers are rated best in their class.
It was also an opportunity for financial professionals in the insurance industry to acknowledge the companies and brands that assist them to trade profitably.
Andre van der Merwe, head of Corporate at Etana, said after winning the award: “We are thrilled and we want to build on what we’ve done. It’s a good moment for Etana, our brokers and clients, and we are going to try to go bigger and bigger, and next year, with their support, win all three [awards – corporate, commercial and personal lines ] in this category.”
Carel Nolte, part of Etana’s exco, said that winning an FIA award showed how great the Etana team is. “I’m really proud of all Etanans, am really privileged to be part of an amazing team and look forward to many, many more years of doing fabulous work together.”
Nash Omar, managing director of Etana, said, “It’s absolutely brilliant. You know we launched our company just four years ago and, in such a short time, to be recognised as the leading short-term insurer is absolutely fantastic.”
