Our passion for motor racing is second only to our passion for providing top-class business insurance, but even then not by much! We have some of the biggest petrol-heads in the industry working at Etana (including our chairman Paolo Cavalieri, himself an enthusiastic racer), so it only makes sense that we throw our full weight behind South African motorsport.
The Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria West was a hive of activity on Saturday 28 January 2012 for the Zwartkops International, as local and international racers entertained crowds who’d packed the track-side grandstands.
The main pit area was the place to be as enthusiasts had their chance to see, touch and hear some very rare machinery.

Motor racers Jason and Keegan Campos completed a competitive 2011 season at the Zwartkops Raceway on 26 November 2011. Running their South African single-seater race cars in Etana colours, the boys fought for podium places and provided serious competition.

Shelby Can-Am driver Brian Algar has had a competitive 2011 season. A regular pacesetter, he achieved second place in the overall drivers’ standings, and clinched the Masters’ title.

Round 13 of the Formula 1 Grand Prix championship marked an incredible milestone for Etana Insurance and SuperSport.
The Monza Grand Prix in Italy saw the number of entries for the SuperSport Formula 1 trivia competition reach the half-million mark. With six more rounds of the championship to go, many enthusiasts are pushing towards entry into the final draw, where they stand a chance of winning a trip to Maranello, the home of Ferrari. Entries are expected to increase substantially when the season draws to a close.

Etana Insurance Shelby Can-Am driver Brian Algar can sum up his overall season in one sentence, Lady Luck has unfortunately not been on his side.
A regular front runner and race winner, Brian has had disappointing results in the second race of each race day’s proceedings. This has been down to incident, mechanical problems or strategy calls that have not gone his way.
