5FM’s DJ Fresh and sports presenter Duran Collett have committed to participate in the 2011 daREDevil run. In addition, the station’s Catherine Grenfell and Poppy Ntshongwana will also be out on race day, supporting the run and snapping pictures of their fellow presenters in their Speedos.

The event in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town on 4 November, will see hundreds of Speedo-clad runners – and their supporters – dashing through peak-hour traffic to raise awareness of testicular and prostate cancer.

Etanan Kurt Solomon, who is organising the event, managed to get commitments from the team of the popular Fresh Drive radio programme when he called in to 5FM.

“Fresh and his crew have a daily segment called Mind Your Own Business where listeners can phone in and chat about their business or special events they are running or organising,” explains Kurt. “We phoned in with the idea and needless to say the 5FM team loved Etana and the daREDevil run concept.
