Durban brokers were introduced to Etana’s new advanced risk evaluation system and other insurance-related topics at an Etana Academy session held at the Durban Country Club recently.
The new Advanced Risk Questionnaire (ARQ), designed by Etana’s risk assessment manager Marcel Wood, eliminates human error in the risk-assessment and management process.
“Etana’s ambition with this tool is to make a significant contribution to the quality of risk assessment in South Africa, with local conditions in mind. I am confident this will go a long way towards achieving that goal,” says Wood.
With its built-in adaptability, the custom-designed risk management tool has the flexibility to cope with a wide range of client risk assessment requirements, from large corporates to small businesses.
Other subjects covered during the three-day academy session were: business interruption insurance, public liability, underwriting risks and information surrounding the Short-term Insurance Act.
Participants were accredited for participating in the academy session.
“At no cost to brokers, the aim of the Etana Academy is to make a significant contribution to building skills within the South African insurance industry and to create a nationwide foundation based on sound insurance knowledge,” says Carel Nolte, head of people and brand at Etana.
