Nicky Stokes is an energetic figure within Etana Insurance, and is known to be one of the best specialist liabilities and professional indemnity practitioners in the industry.

Stokes began working as a broker in the industry in 1996, dealing with professional indemnity. In 1998 she moved to American International Group (AIG) and worked on financial lines of business, before joining Marsh to head up their professional indemnity division.

In 2007, Stokes joined Etana Insurance to assist in establishing the specialist liabilities division. Her primary focus is the marketing and underwriting of professional indemnity, but she also underwrites other financial lines, like directors and officers liability, financial institutions professional indemnity, banker’s blanket bond, employee practices liability and trustee liability.

Her tremendous enthusiasm, expertise and knowledge of her field have contributed to Etana Insurance becoming renowned as one of South Africa’s largest and best business insurers.

To keep in good shape, Stokes pushes her body to the limit by attending fitness boot camp and riding her mountain bike across challenging terrain.

Away from her extended Etana family, Stokes enjoys spending time with her daughter and son, Jordi and Shaun. She also enjoys socialising with friends and fellow Etanans. “Nothing beats a good night out,” she says.
