At Etana, our passion for our unique culture is extremely strong. The foundation for this is built on the values that every RED-blooded Etanan lives on a daily basis. These values – make it happen; grow; be open; give; and know – are integrated into everything we do at Etana and form the basis on which we interact with brokers, clients, suppliers and, importantly, each other.

Collectively these are a call to action to take the bull by the horns and face any challenges, opportunities and tasks that may arise. To both harness and challenge the collective powers of people management, branding and education, Etana has commenced the Etana Graduate Programme for 2012.

The year-long course aims to continually support the growth of Etanans as well as some of South Africa’s graduates. It is offered internally to Etanans, as well as to graduate applicants from around the country. 2012 is the pilot year for the programme.

The Etana graduates will participate in the course from February 1 to December 1 2012. During this time they will have a number of opportunities to influence the design of the course as well as the content – challenging the status quo and innovating old concepts of what it means to be in a graduate programme.

Benefits
This has a number of benefits since the grads will almost certainly be exposed to areas of the insurance industry that they are passionate about. They will be mentored by the best Etana has to offer and have unlimited access to the organisation and its learning facilities. In line with this access and experience, the graduates, through the Etana Academy, will have a first-of-a-kind opportunity to complete an online NQF 5 insurance qualification as part of the course.

“This is a great opportunity for the graduates and Etana to build and attract talented and passionate people,” says Carel Nolte, head of People, Brand and Procurement at Etana.

Michelle Padayachee, an Etanan working in the IT and Procurement areas, is a new addition to the Etana Graduate Programme, and is looking forward to the course: “I have been at Etana for two years, and I am so revved up for the grad programme, the opportunity to grow and what the year ahead promises to offer.”

Milan Madhav, a new recruit to the graduate programme and Etana, had this to say: “As a new graduate I’m excited to be part of the programme, as I know it’s going to be a year full of challenges, learning and the Etanan spirit.”

Other graduates include Joseph Mngenela, Greg Scott and Jason Campos.
