Over the weekend of 3 to 4 September 2011 the Etana brand was out for all to see in the Nelspruit region. The Currie Cup log-leading Lions played against the Pumas at the Peter Mokaba stadium, while Laerskool Nelspruit was on the cricket field in their Etana-branded shirts.
“It’s been a busy weekend for all at the Etana Nelspruit office,” mentions branch manager Henry Breedt. “On Friday evening we attended the Currie Cup game with our brokers to watch the incredible Lions take on the Pumas. The game was an exciting encounter, with the team from Nelspruit making a late comeback. The Lions managed to hold out and, in the process, score a late try that awarded them a bonus point.”
Henry was again sitting on the sidelines at a cricket game when Laerskool Nelspruit played against Bergland. Henry’s son, Rynardt, is the opening batsman in this team. Etana’s branding adorns the back of the team’s shirts, which makes the players look extremely professional for school boy level.
“Overall it was a great weekend,” says Henry. “We all thoroughly enjoyed the rugby with our brokers; it was an excellent game that generated plenty of excitement. It is always great watching your kids play any sport, and it was made even better because my son’s team is supported by Etana. I was one very proud father and supporter.”
