Johannesburg Etanans and their brokers got the opportunity of a lifetime on 4 November 2011 when the Golden Lions Rugby Union allowed Etana to “borrow” the Currie Cup trophy for a day.
The Lions and many at Etana are still on cloud nine after the Lions’ recent triumph in this prestigious provincial rugby competition. So it was highly exciting when the Currie Cup arrived at Etana where Etanans got the chance to hold it and be photographed with it.
During the course of the morning and mid-afternoon, Etanans Abdul Ebrahim (Johannesburg branch manager), Christo Crafford (Johannesburg deputy branch manager), Justin Naylor (head of independent brokers in Johannesburg), Josie Holley (Etana brand manager) and some of the Etana FeLions stopped at brokers in the Sandton area. Team members from Marsh, Aon, Alexander Forbes, MFW and Barker Insurance Brokers got the chance to be photographed with the Currie Cup.
“It was really great that we could offer this special experience to everyone at our broker offices,” says Christo. “It emphasised the strength of the partnerships with our brokers and the great relationship that we have with the Lions. I was completely blown away by the reception we got. Everyone loved to be part of it and it was also great to have the Etana FeLions join us.”
“After our visit to the various brokers, the trophy was brought back to Etana, just in time for the 2011 daREDevil Run,” concludes Josie.
