The 2011 Insurance Institute of the Cape of Good Hope (IICoGH) dinner took place on 9 November at the GrandWest Casino in Goodwood. Five-hundred-and-eighty guests congregated at the Market Hall for the event.
Etana was one of the title sponsors of the dinner and some creative thinking from the team led to a molecular mixology cocktail bar being set-up and branded red. Molecular mixology uses principles of chemistry to change the structure of drinks to include, for instance, foam or to turn liquids into solids. This eye-catching and popular booth served over 200 free cocktails to guests who were intrigued with the concept.
“Etana had four tables at the dinner,” says Cape Town Etanan James Peters. “Two were taken for our branch, one for team members from our Centres of Excellence and one for Etanans from our Boland office. In total, we had a mix of 40 incREDible people including Rob Hallier, Nash Omar, Charl Swarts, Nick Swart, Mark Molenaar, Heinrich Westenraad, André and Sanet van der Walt and Josie Holley.”
The evening was great for networking opportunities and Etanans were able to mingle with fellow team members from other regions. Stuart Taylor, MC for the evening and comedian by profession, entertained the guests.
