It’s all in the numbers at Etana – which number are you?

Number-crunching aside, figures have always held special significance for Etanans.

They are a record of many of our historical milestones: 5FM’s DJ Fresh and sports presenter Duran Collett have committed to participate in the 2011 daREDevil run; for the past 10 years we have been nominated by brokers as one of the top two insurers; we’re incredibly proud of our 18 “local is lekker” branches scattered throughout South Africa; we secured R1.63-billion in annual premium income up to June 2011; and we have 17 years of consecutive underwriting profit to our credit. To top it all, the 2010 daREDevil run made the 2012 Guinness World Records for the most men gathered in one place in Speedos, and this year’s event, on Friday November 4, aims to top that!

Numbers also feature strongly in our business relationships: we were the official sponsors and hosts of the 2011 Insurance Conference Golf Day attended by more than 140 insurance delegates; at the 2011 NMA-ISKA 6th All Africa Open Sport Martial Arts Championships, 22 Etana-supported fighters won 34 medals, 16 of them gold; and as part of its Audi Impressions Programme, the car manufacturer offered a select group of Etanans the opportunity to test the Audi A6 and A8.

It’s no surprise, then, that official recognition of the world’s 7-billionth citizen this week evoked interest among Etanans. After relatively slow growth for most of human history, the number of people on Earth has more than doubled in the last 50 years. Want to find out exactly where you fit into the population matrix?
