In the first-ever daREDevil run in Cape Town, Capetonians came out in numbers to support the call to raise awareness of testicular and prostate cancer.

Joburg daREDevils put their balls on the line for cancer

First came the distant sound of a thousand footfalls, steadily growing louder. Then flashes of red caught in the rear-view mirrors of those stuck in afternoon Joburg traffic. Finally, they swarmed in, darting (and some gasping) past the cars lined up on Jan Smuts Avenue as they jogged towards the finish line and ice cold beers – the Speedo-clad daREDevils of 2011.

I like playing rugby because it is a lot of fun. I also like watching rugby because you can support the Lions. But the one thing I liked the most was running on with the Lions at their semi-final last weekend versus Western Province. I was chosen by Etana to run out with the Lions team. I felt like a real rugby player when I ran out of the tunnel. I waited at the bottom of the stairs.
