Meet Brenda Wood from Etana Johannesburg. Brenda is personal assistant to Nick Swart, Kobus van Niekerk and the Centres of Excellence. Before joining Etana two years ago, Brenda worked in marketing and administration and had a brief stint in advertising sales.

During the past two years, Brenda says she’s seen Etana grow from strength to strength, despite the challenge of tough economic times. She has enjoyed living the Etana values and says “these encourage excellence”.

“I love working at Etana, it’s great – and even the best can get better!” says Brenda.

“I work for two men who strive to live by Etana’s values – be open, grow, make it happen and give,” she adds.

Away from Etana, Brenda’s happiest outdoors where she enjoys heading for the bush or getting to grips with nature in her garden. Other favourite activities include going to the movies and eating popcorn, and reading. Brenda is married and has a son, Brandon, who is currently trying to pass his driver’s licence for the fourth time and daughter, Megan, who she describes as a hard worker.

When it comes to favourite things, long-stemmed deep red roses top Brenda’s list; her favourite animal is a zebra and Lady Gaga is favoured over Dolly Parton. No funny insurance stories from Brenda who says, “Most of the time, insurance stories aren’t funny.”
