Known as “Nails” to some, Justin Naylor is head of Independent Brokers for Etana Johannesburg, where he manages a team of broker consultants who look after independent brokers in this region.
Justin is passionate about the incredible people he works with and what they do. In addition, he thoroughly enjoys the manner in which his relationship with his group of brokers is constantly growing within his “local is lekker” market.
“I am challenged at least 10 times a day, but there is always a way to make it happen with a good broker as a wing man, and that makes my job awesome!” he says.
With Etana’s “local is lekker” approach, Justin has a very strong belief in employing and working with the best. He highlights that Etana’s know-how in all types of business insurance is a key factor in establishing them as the best insurer to do business with. In order to do this, the company needs to have the best people in all branches and positions, to work and build relationships with like-minded brokers and clients.
Justin is not ashamed to admit that, when it comes to fun and games, he has been known (and thoroughly enjoys) removing his clothes in public, after one or two drinks of course! This holds particularly true when it comes to kitting himself out in his Etana daREDevil Speedo, which also happens to be his favourite red item.
He enjoys spending time with his wife Trudi and two sons Jack and Luke. “Nails” describes his better half as “amazing” and says she keeps him in line (when he needs it). He emphasises that the fun and special times they have together mean the world to him. His passion is for running and keeping fit, travelling and tasting wines from across the world, visiting the bush and fly fishing.
Working at Etana “means everything” to Justin and he particularly highlights the people, and the direction in which the company is headed. His ability to make a difference is special and he looks forward to adding much more value (in his own way) to Etana, brokers, clients and the insurance industry in general.
Enthusiastic about constantly sharing what he knows, he encourages anyone curious about insurance to give him a call or, better still, buy him a drink so he can share some interesting and memorable insurance stories!
“During the course of 2011 I spent three months in Munich on the Alois Alzheimer Scholarship hosted by Munich Re,” says Justin. “I am extremely passionate about doing business with brokers and am driven towards sharing whatever information I can to add value to the businesses of our brokers.”
